Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh receives Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam

CMSC Chairman of the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) Nguyen Hoang Anh on June 21st hosted a reception for newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki.
Also attending the meeting were Mr. Le Manh Tung, Director of Director of the Department of Technology and Infrastructure, Mr. Mai Quoc Vuong, Deputy Chief of CMSC’s Office and Mr. Le Xuan Huyen, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam).
Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki said, after the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries is at its best stage when the two sides agreed to upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in November 2023. In order to bring Japan - Vietnam relations to be commensurate with with new positioning and level, Ambassador Naoki Ito affirmed that he will make effort to further strengthen friendship and cooperation in many fields such as economy, security, culture and people-to-people exchanges. According to Ambassador Naoki Ito, in the context that investment activities, Japanese businesses are eager to invest in Vietnam and strengthening economic cooperation is the most important driving force to deepen two countries’ relations.

Being appointed in May 2024, Ambassador Naoki Ito paid visits to some Vietnamese ministries and state angencies, including the CMSC which is a government agency and exercises rights and take on duties as the owner’s representative to wholly State-owned enterprises and state capital invested in joint-stock companies and multi-member limited liability companies. On this occasion, Ambassador Naoki Ito and CMSC Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh discussed a number of important contents, related to the resumption of official development assistance (ODA) projects, especially high-quality infrastructure projects.
For his part, CMSC Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh affirmed that Vietnam consistently considers Japan its top important and long-term strategic partner. The host expressed his joy at the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Looking back over the past 50 years, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries is at its best stage, developing strongly and comprehensively in all fields, especially the outstanding achievements in economic cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. Japan is currently the leading economic partner of Việt Nam, providing the largest ODA aid. In particular, there have been infrastructure projects that have become symbols of the relationship between Vietnam and Japan, Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh added.

Referring to pushing forward existing cooperation projects, Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh and Ambassador Ito Naoki agreed on a number of important points, including removing difficulties and obstacles at the North-South Expressway Construction Project in the Ben Luc - Long Thanh section; at the same time, exchange information and experiences on high-quality infrastructure development on the basis of the direction of the two countries’ Prime Ministers at high-level talks. In addition, Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh and Ambassador Ito Naoki also discussed Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Project and divestment, equitization at state-owned enterprises.
Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh believed that with his experience in diplomacy and his contributions to the Vietnam - Japan ties in various previous positions, Ambassador Ito Naoki will continue to contribute to promoting bilateral relations in the coming time. Regarding economic cooperation - the main pillar of the two countries' relationship, Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh expressed his hope that during his term, Ambassador Ito Naoki will act as a bridge to further promote the the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan, contributing to fostering two countries’ enterprises cooperation, including state-owned enterprises under CMSC.
