Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Canh hosts delegation of Embraer S.A. (Brazil)

CMSC Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Vice Chairman of Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) had a meeting with the delegation of Embraer S.A. (Brazil) led by Mr. Juhairul Marzuk, Vice President-Institutional Relations for Asia Pacific on March 22nd.
Also attending the meeting were leaders of Department of Technology and Infrastructure, CMSC’s Office and representative of Vietnam Airlines.
Mr. Juhairul Marzuk, Vice President-Institutional Relations for Asia Pacific at Embraer said, as a Brazilian multinational aerospace corporation, Embraer develops and manufactures aircraft and aviation systems, and provides leasing, equipment, and technical support services. Embraer is the third largest producer of civil aircraft worldwide after Boeing and Airbus, and strong at producing under-130-seat planes. It has delivered five E190 aircrafts to Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways.

Mr. Juhairul Marzuk highly valued the potential of the Vietnamese aviation market, saying it is suitable for existing Embraer aircraft models. Mr. Juhairul Marzuk also expressed his desire to to expand collaboration and investment to develop its business ecosystem in Vietnam such as providing aircraft maintenance and repair services, and participate in the training of aviation manpower.
For his part, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Vice Chairman of CMSC said, with its global reputation, Embraer is the world's third-largest manufacturer of civil aircraft, following Boeing and Airbus. Referring to Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Embraer Group on the occasion of PM’s official visit to Brazil in September 2023, Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Canh expressed his belief in the bright future of aviation trade between Vietnam and Brazil.

According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Canh, the CMSC has recently directed Vietnam Airlines to finalize the master plan on solutions to remove difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, including the content of restructuring Pacific Airlines and the strategy of restructuring and developing the fleet. Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Canh acknowledged that new-generation Embraer planes are suitable for Vietnamese airlines to expand their fleets, especially for affordable flights over short-medium ranges with limited passenger numbers.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh noted that Vietnam Airlines and Boeing have recently signed a deal for the purchase of 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircrafts and Vice Chairman himself had a discussion on March 19th with Ms. Reta Jo Lewis, Chair of Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), for the financing of the purchase. Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Canh, as a result, asked the executive of Embraer to provide more details related to discounts, maintenance, and technologies for operation, and requested Vietnam Airlines to cooperate with Embraer on these tasks. Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Canh also urged Embraer to help Vietnam train its aviation workforces, and share technology, automation, and risk prevention for aviation management.
